Blessing of the Animals, October 8
Blessing of the Animals
Sunday October 8, 2023, 3 PM
Grace Undercroft
Bring your animal companions, as well as emotional support and service animals, to Grace Episcopal Church for a special blessing. This special event is held every year in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, whose feast day is October 4.
“God’s animals inhabit the skies, the land and the sea; we share the earth with them, and like them rely on God’s blessing to sustain and preserve us. We gather in communion and friendship with Francis of Assisi who preached to animals and moved throughout the known world sharing God’s unconditional love for all beings. Remembering Francis’s love for all God’s creatures, bring forward the animals entrusted to your care that we may bless them…”
